Listening first. Working with the community.

I’m Siddhali Anup Shah, youngest municipal councillor, Ward 8, Phaltan Maharashtra. Elected at 21, I began my work in local governance with a commitment to listen, learn and respond to the everyday concerns of residents.

Alongside public service, I am pursuing law. I am interested in how law, governance and public policy can help people access opportunity and essential services.

Mauli Foundation

I established Mauli Foundation at 18 after seeing women with valuable skills and ideas who had limited access to resources, markets and spaces to participate. Mauli, a Marathi word associated with a mother’s care, reflects the spirit in which the Foundation began. Its programmes support skills, livelihoods, confidence and connection.

Civic service and healthcare

My municipal work with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) focuses on practical civic needs, from roads and water pipelines to sanitation, lighting and public facilities. Through my role at Ayushman UHC Centre, Phaltan, I also work with healthcare professionals and community representatives to support local health works.

A shared purpose

Across these roles, my purpose is consistent: to help people participate, progress and have a voice in their community.
